Vermouth
The name "vermouth" is the French pronunciation of the German word for wormwood, wermut. Wormwood has long been used as an ingredient in vermouth due to the belief that this plant was effective at treating stomach disorders.
The Secret
Produced from a careful selection of Lustau sherry wines, botanicals and fragrant plants. The secret of Lustau’s formula lies in the careful assembly and complex balancing of the wines and botanicals.
Botanicals
It takes months for the botanical’s aromas to fully integrate with the wine. During this period, the vermouth gains consistency and acquires its final personality
Lustau Blanco
Intense and bright yellow in colour with golden reflections, the aromas show floral, citrusy and herbaceous notes over a yeasty and mineral base. The finish is bitter and clean with a long, nutty and refreshing aftertaste.
Lustau Rose
A delicate pink-orange colour. Herbaceous notes mingle with fruit and spices. The spiced strawberry and subtle nut notes are followed by a comforting sweetness that lingers.
Lustau Rojo
Mahogany in colour with reddish glints. Sweet aromas of ripe fruit are laced with citrus and herbal notes over a smoky woody background. On the palate, it is velvety, flavourful and well balanced. Bitter finish delicately accompanied by a distinctive nutty aftertaste.
Sherry Based Vermut
Prestigious Sherry producer Lustau produces three vermouths – a red, white and rosé. Each one is based on a different blend of wines (PX and Amontillado for the red, Fino and Moscatel for the white, with Fino, Moscatel and Tintilla de Rota for the rosé), flavoured with botanicals. The resulting wines are rich and herbal, with a distinct hint of Sherry, perfect for both sipping and mixing in cocktails.
